Baking with Belina & Co.
The other day, I found in my doorway, a Cook It In a Cup (Chronicle Books, $16.99) kit. It looked really cool because of all the colorful cups. So, I decided to start baking right away. I flipped through the recipe book and soon found a recipe called “classic cupcakes.” The picture looked really good, so that is what I chose! Of course the other recipes looked yummy too, but I really, really like cupcakes!
Baking (the fun part):
I ran to get my little brother and our neighbor Star Girl. The three of us put on our aprons and got to work. I had such a great time baking because I was in charge of the baking team. That’s how easy the recipe was! And we didn’t burn the cupcakes!
Eating (yum! yum!):
When they were cool, we popped them out of the flexible silicon cupcake molds. And, in the end, my mother did help – she made a simple icing to put on top and found some sprinkled in the cupboard. We put our decorated cupcakes on a pretty platter and had a party with the neighbors. We all agreed they were delicious! I can’t wait to try another recipe!
Note from the editor: Belina is our newest Baltimore Mama writer. Even though she is not a mama, she is great tester!
